Undercurrents is
currently looking for a Sponsorship Sales Manager to work within their
friendly and growing team.
You will be promoting sponsorship opportunities for the Undercurrents
portfolio of music related events including showcases, educational
forums and trade shows. You should have previous sales experience,
preferably in a sponsorship sales role, enjoy developing new business
relationships and sales opportunities as well as maintaining
relationships with existing sponsors to maximize repeat business.
Each Undercurrents Event must be commercially successful. You must have
the entrepreneurial flair and initiative to win corporate sponsorship.
You will research new business opportunities via the internet, relevant
business publications and visiting competitor events. Business
presentations are pitched at senior level so you must be confident and
have a consultative approach to the sales process and be able to deal
with decision makers.

This job is with one of the most important within Undercurrents, one
that coordinates sponsorships for over 400 events a year in a wide range
of demographic areas, including 20 of the largest regions of the US and
Canada. Events are run in all major North American cities and reflect a
global perspective on current music business issues. What is needed is
at least 4 year’s relevant commercial experience in a business
development role in which deal values averaged around $15k. You’ll spend
approximately 70% of your time on the phone and 30% in front of clients
at their offices, industry forums and events.
Oversee strategy, budget, marketing and production for music showcases
and educational seminars for the music / entertainment industry.
Responsible for annual forecast and quarterly business planning. Manage
coordination between departments to meet target deadlines for production
and marketing. Sponsor research, and execute marketing plan. Research
industry issues for new training seminars and conference ideas. Work
with showcase & conference producer to manage industry-specific business
and marketing strategy conferences. Research and prospect sponsorship
opportunities, venue coordination and research, draft agenda, and manage
on-site. If
