"Equilbrium"
© 1999
by David McDougald

Down on Franklin in Ohio City
Charlie walks down the street with a bottle of beer
He’s got no money but he’s got his bottle
Brutality of the police is his biggest fear
Then you got the rich man, on the corner
Building his million dollar house right there
Across for the crack house and the homeless shelter
The inequality is everywhere

I want balance
You want balance
We need balance

Down in Chagrin, Falls a man
Because of the different color of his skin
It’s segregation, you ignorant fucks
To free your bigot mind is where to begin
Don’t you see the racist in your backyard?
Black or White it’s all the same you’ll see
Like all the colors inside the spectrum
Blend together to light reality
